The Energy Performance Certificate
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a key component of the Home Information Pack. It provides an official energy rating of a home and must be produced for any home with three or more bedrooms marketed for sale.
A qualified Domestic Energy Assessor or Home Inspector will conduct an assessment of the home and provide a report on the energy efficiency and environmental impact that a building is having on the environment.
The report will contain a number of recommendations on how to improve the building's energy bills, reduce carbon deposits and make homes more attractive to potential buyers.
The EPC features two simple and easy to understand graphs, similar to those found on household appliances such as fridges. Take a look at our example EPC to see what it looks like.
